You can share Mystery Science lessons with your students for remote learning using most Learning Management Systems including Schoology. You can learn more about how Schoology works by visiting their site.
*Note: You can assign lessons and assessments through Schoology, but worksheets must be linked through Google Drive or printed out.
Share lessons in Schoology using the Share button on the lesson title page
All lessons feature a Share button located on the video title page.
By clicking this, you will see a link designed for students that you can copy. Learn more about what students will see when they access this link.
Go to your Schoology account, choose one of your Courses and select the 'Add Materials' drop-down menu. There are two different ways you can assign a lesson:
- Just assign the link with no additional instructions by choosing the 'Add File/Link/External Tool' option.
- Assign the link along with any additional instructions or assessments by choosing the 'Add Assignment' option.
.
1. Add File/Link/External Tool option
After clicking on File/Link/External Tool, choose the 'Link' option.
Then paste in the Share Link you copied from your selected lesson. Make sure that you click on the window icon in the 'Options' section at the bottom of the window until it says "Display in new window" before you save. The video will not load if it shows "Display in Schoology."
.
Click the [Add] button to generate a lesson link that will show up with the same name as the lesson.
2. Add Assignment
Click on the 'Add Assignment' option to open up a new assignment window. You can add a name to the assignment and fill out any special instructions, discussion questions or extras. Click on the link icon at the bottom of the text field to paste in the Share Link you copied from your selected lesson.
Once the link is attached, you will see a preview and can make any last-minute edits. Click 'Create' to save the assignment.
Include worksheets and assessments after you've created the Assignment
Most of the lessons we offer include a worksheet that allows students to document their learning progress as part of an activity, as well as lesson and unit assessments to gauge learning comprehension. We recommend printing out worksheets and assessments or attaching a printable PDF for parents/guardians to print at home.
