Activity: Feel the Heat
My students were still able to feel the temperature of the cups. Any suggestions?
We’re sorry this activity didn’t work quite as expected! Here are a few things to consider:
- Temperature of the water: was the hot water super hot, and the cold water super cold?
- Length of time the students held the cups: did they just touch each cup, or hold them for a few minutes? The duration of the grip could make a difference.
- The thickness of the socks: thinner socks could make a difference as well. You could try using mittens instead of socks, too!
Are there any alternatives to styrofoam cups?
You can use standard paper cups as an alternative to styrofoam.
