Why isn’t mold growing?

If there is no mold growing after 2 or 3 weeks, there may be a problem.

One likely problem is moisture. The foods will mold best if they are damp, but not soggy. We suggest opening the bag and checking the bread. If it's dry, mold won’t grow. Try spraying the food with water, then resealing it.

Another possible problem may be the choice of bread. Commercial bread can contain preservatives to deter mold. You may observe better results with day-old bread from a bakery.
