What is the difference between lessons and mini-lessons?

Our goal at Mystery Science is to offer resources that can help a variety of teachers make science more engaging.

Our open-and-go lessons are part of a K-5 online science curriculum aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards. Each lesson lasts about an hour and includes optional extras and assessments for teaching, with which you can extend the teaching to up to three hours per week. Many teachers use Mystery Science as their main science curriculum, but some use it to supplement other programs. It’s really up to you!

Mini-lessons are weekly, 5-minute videos that can also be used in the classroom during short breaks in the day or as cool content for transition times. The topics span more than just scientific phenomena -- they also highlight other educational areas in addition to science, such as music, language, and nutrition, to name a few.
