Distance Learning has brought many challenges when preparing and sharing Mystery Science lessons for students. We created Google Forms versions of our assessments to allow you to assign them, grade them, and send feedback to students without having to print anything! These assessments are editable and can have grade values assigned to every question.
Make a copy of a Google Form Assessment:
Before you start, make sure you are signed into the Google account associated with your Google Classroom.
In the "Extend this lesson" section, click on "Assessments" and choose "View Google Form Assessments".
This will open all of the Google Form Assessments. You can also see the list here.
Scroll down to the Assessment you want to share and click on it. This will bring you to the Copy Document page. Click "Make a copy".
Once you click "Make a copy," a copy is added to your Google Drive. From here, you can share it with your students by clicking "Share" in the top right and copying the link. If you're using Google Classroom, you can add the assessment as a new lesson. You can read more about how to assign a lesson in Google Classroom here.
Collecting grades in Google Classroom:
To collect grades on an assessment in Google Classroom, you want to make sure that the assessment is assigned separately from the lesson or worksheets.
This will allow for the Grade Importing toggle to be turned on.
We recommend assigning a lesson and any worksheets as one assignment and then creating a New Assignment for your assessment for the best experience.
