This lesson is part of the new 4th grade unit, "Animal & Plant Adaptations"
Why did we develop this lesson?
Mystery Science partially covers 4-LS1-2 in our Human Body unit and this lesson expands that coverage to integrate how information gathered through an animal’s senses combine with their past memories and experiences to influence their behaviors.
This lesson focuses on how animals use their perceptions, instincts, and memories to guide their decisions and behaviors. In the hands-on activity, students use a model to explore how animals receive different types of information from their senses, process that information in their brain, and then respond based on their instincts and memories.
