So you've performed the video test and gotten the results, how do you know what they mean? Who should you contact for additional help? This page will help answer those questions for you!
When to perform the test
We suggest performing the video test if you are trying to play the videos, but are receiving an error message stating that content is being blocked. Or, you may be seeing a blank white page with just the Mystery Science header at the top and a plain white page with just the links showing, but none of the icons or images.
What does the video test show?
When you run a video test you are testing to see if any of the sites we use to host our content are being blocked by your school or district. This isn’t an unusual occurrence, as most schools use content filtering or firewalls. The video test will show you which, if any, of those sites are being blocked. If nothing is being blocked, this is what your test results will show:
If you see a red “X” next to one of the websites listed, you should reach out to your school’s IT department with the screenshot of your results. They will be able to see which of our hosting sites is blocked, and then unblock it for you on their end. After they unblock the site, you should no longer have trouble viewing the videos.
If you run the test, and see a green checkmark by all of the links (as shown in the image above), and are still having difficulty playing our videos, please contact us for further suggestions on how to proceed.
