When you click on a Mystery Science worksheet, you’ll see a preview of the document on the webpage. However, sometimes browser settings can affect whether the preview is displayed. If you see a gray screen where the document preview should be, you may need to accept cookies or change your browser settings.
You’ll need to select the option to accept all cookies to see the preview in the document viewer. If you don’t want to accept all cookies, you can still use the Download button in the top left corner of the document viewer to download a copy of the worksheet.
Change your browser setting to display PDFs (Chrome)
If you’ve already accepted cookies and still don’t see the preview of the document, your browser may be set to download PDFs instead of displaying them. If you're using the Chrome browser, you can set Chrome to display PDFs using the following steps:
On the Settings window, under Privacy and security, click the Site Settings option.
Scroll down the Site Settings screen to find and click Additional Content Settings, then select the PDF documents option.
Select Open PDFs in Chrome.
Please note, if you’re using a school-owned device, your IT department may have restrictions on what settings you can change. If these settings aren’t available to you, we recommend reaching out to the IT department at your school or district for assistance with making these changes.
In many cases, even though the preview of the document is not shown on the page, you can still use the Download button at the top of the page to download a copy of the worksheet as a PDF, Google document, or Microsoft Office document.
If you continue to have trouble downloading the worksheets from our site, please reach out and let us know!
